Traveling requires planning if you are to have a successful trip and enjoy yourself.

Organizing your surroundings and belongings follows the same principle. Jumping right in without a plan will only result in further chaos leaving you feeling overwhelmed, frustrated and lost. You need to know a few things about yourself and how you function in your environment and come up with a plan before you even touch the first item. This is where I come in.

Stage 1

We will begin with a discussion that allows me to gather information from you to assist in that first step. The answers you provide will give me a sense of who you are and what your vision is for your space. Together we will find out what your priorities are and determine how to proceed. Stage 2

We can then move on to the next step setting an appointment for an in-home consultation. Together we will walk through the rooms or areas that need some clutter control. The great thing about this stage is that you don’t have to do a thing to prepare. All you will be doing is a little show and tell.

Taking a visual tour of your space and talking with you will assist me in putting together a customized plan of action. I want to know what your vision is for your space. There are methods for taking that vision and making it a reality. What you may not realize is that what is currently working for you is the key to determining how we proceed in setting up systems that are intuitive and natural to you. Chances are, you probably have some great organizing systems in place already. We simply use those as templates to improve areas in your home that are not functioning as you hoped.

Stage 3

Now we get to the hands-on work! Side by side we will begin to put your home in order again by:

  • Sorting it all out
  • Purging what you no longer need
  • Assigning a home for items or groups of items┬áto keep
  • Finding the right containers and storage solutions

Depending on how many areas you need help organizing, the process could be done in as little as one session that takes only a few hours or for bigger jobs, multiple sessions may be required that may take several days or weeks. It is all up to you. Typical sessions run 3 to 4 hours each, though I can be flexible as needed.

There are many tools and techniques that you will learn along the way and storage solutions designed to help you maintain these spaces for the long term. However, we all get busy with our lives and sometimes we slide back into old habits. Maybe circumstances in your life have changed and you need some fresh ideas.
